The SIIM Annual Meeting consists of the following types of sessions: General SessionsSIIM’s general sessions have always been a highlight of the annual meeting, providing timely core topics of interest to informatics professionals. The general sessions include the opening and closing sessions, as well as the Dwyer Lecture. SIIM Learning TracksThe annual meeting program features learning tracks providing attendees with multi-dimensional learning environments. The learning tracks include: Educational Sessions – Traditional didactic sessions featuring experts presenting innovative techniques and concepts on topics that serve as a catalyst for group discussions. Applied Learning Sessions – Highly collaborative and practical sessions in the form of panel discussions and town hall forums, participants will be provided with the opportunity to explore innovative techniques and tools. This session format includes vendor tie-in session to allow for sharing of corporate vision in context with the educational material. Scientific Sessions – Representing the science at the heart of the annual meeting, these sessions will feature abstracts presented as papers, posters and demonstrations, and incorporated into the learning tracks. Hot Topic SessionsThe Hot Topic Sessions will feature timely topics presented by imaging informatics experts who are actively involved in the latest developments surrounding those topics. These sessions include a question & answer period where attendees can interact with industry leaders to further explore problems and solutions. Sunday Learning Series: Tools of the Trade Learning LabsThe Sunday Learning Series: Tools of the Trade provides participants with a small group, active-learning environment where they can practice the skills need for their profession. Whether you are new to the field of imaging informatics or a seasoned veteran, these interactive, hands-on sessions focus on specific content, examples, and practices using everyday tools to provide valuable skills in a small classroom setting. Integrated Learning ActivitiesIntegrated learning activities are designed to stimulate interaction between the educational program and the technical exhibits, and to extend the opportunity for personal interaction, exchange, and networking among attendees, exhibitors, and thought leaders. Integrated Learning is presented in the Applied Learning Vendor Tie-in Sessions of the Educational Program, and in the Shared Learning Community located in the exhibit hall to include Roundtable Discussions, the Open Source Plugfest, Innovation Theater presentations, demonstrations, CIIP Study Groups, and more.
